Twelve Years A Slave: An Evil Conquered in the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Jesus Christ

12 Years A Slave' Trailer: Chiwetel Ejiofor Leads All-Star Cast In ...

After watching “Twelve Years A Slave”, one cannot help but react with vitriol to the man-stealing (the Biblical phrase used to condemn a particular type of servitude) that plagued the main character’s life and hundreds of millions of others for millennia. No society is without blemish in the realm of man-stealing, and it is an industry that thrives just as much then as it does today. It’s most prominent manifestation at the present time comes in the form of human trafficking, whether in sweatshops or for prostitution/pornography in the realm of sexual trafficking, especially of minors.

The political and media classes say very little of these present day horrors, yet they are very real. Many in these classes are silent because they take part in these arbitrary fictions. Whether stolen from a village in Thailand or right out of the American suburbs, man-stealing is an abomination.

Like other “social” issues (an arbitrary term that denies the moral relevance in every issue, including the economy), it is messy, so politicians stay away from it so as not to appear “extreme” or “radical”.  Truth be known, politicians are a reflection of our decadent society that is filled with so much trash that human trafficking is just “another issue” among many. After all, we wouldn’t want to become “single issue” voters would we?

For this reason, we must preach from the pulpit how evil such things are and refuse to blow past them. There is legitimate debate within orthodoxy about how to deal with a range of injustices, yet silence is not one of those. Moreover, if the laws change against Homeschool (a fundamental Biblical right used to combat the above plagues), what will you do when DFACS shows up to steal your children in the name of the religion of the state? Better think about it because it will be coming if we are silent.

Biblically, The Triune God  is the only answer to these grievous sins, for He alone is just and the Justifier. A society that rebels against His Holiness is doomed to chaos and the utmost of depravities like man-stealing.  Let us therefore continue to exalt the Lord of Glory on this Resurrection Day and delight to see His Name lifted up above all other names.

By His Grace & For His Glory: A Generation Rebuilds

For many of us this is our story. A story of rebuilding.

Many of our great grandfathers built a great house, but it was built upon the sands of an external form of godliness.

Their offspring, our grandfathers who fought and won a great war as heroes of old, could pass on little more than a vague shadow of morality themselves, which was quickly cast into the abyss of deep darkness by their sons.

In this, our father’s generation, had so few children, and they hurled themselves towards a great rebellion and apostasy that even their fathers had not known.

In selfishness, they aborted their children, and to those whom they had, they gave their sons to other sons and their daughters to other daughters.

Others simply turned a blind eye as they watched their sons sire children only to leave them to unwed mothers who grew in their dependency upon the state and mock The True and Living God.

Today, like their fathers, these sons have indulged in the trifles of this world, and, with their fathers, they have plunged a whole people into a terrible wickedness filled with all kinds of horror.

All seems lost, for the wisdom that came out of Jerusalem has been despised, lost, and forgotten.

In its place, Athens prevails upon the hearts of men and they lust after the many evils found in this fallen world which is filled with sin and violence.

Yea, but not all have forgotten, for a remnant rising, and they have beheld The One Who reigns on High.

They rule with Him in the heavenlies as they fight the good fight of faith no matter the loss, scorn, and ridicule.

Out of the ashes and nearly hidden from view, we have risen, and our numbers grow beyond the reckoning of our most vile enemies, among whom many of us once were.

Unlike many of our forefathers before us, we have chosen to build our house upon the Rock, Jesus Christ, He Who is Lord of lords and King of kings! Amen!

Our detractors are filled with great fear because their scorn, which worked upon our fathers, only emboldens our resolve and nurtures our cause to see Christ glorified in the home, in the Church, and amongst the nations of this world.

Let us therefore keep rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem and raise a great generation unto the Lord.

May we continue to teach our children to know Him as we come home to our families at the end of the day instead of chasing after vain and selfish ambition.

May our little ones grow up to sing His praise and cultivate a time of great refreshing in these dry and thirsty lands.

The battle belongs to the Lord.

By His grace and for His glory we rise to the occasion.

O Lord, come quickly.

Soli Deo Gloria

When Lying Erodes Society, Let Your Light Shine

Lying is found everywhere from your child’s lips to the average drunk driver that has always only had ‘a couple beers’. Politics is no different, for it has been a useful political tool since the beginning, yet God hates outright deceit in an effort to deny justice, oppress the widow and orphan, etc. Furthermore, it’s not that any particular politician couldn’t pass his preferred legislation and that be construed as a lie; rather it’s when he lies about saying he could do something when he knew he couldn’t and laughed about it. All of that to win an election thereby lining his pockets and securing his power.

Needless to say, there’s plenty of lying to go around. What’s so concerning today is how bold the lies have become. There is no fear of God before men, and the haters of God on the left have grown in their boldness, while those on the institutional right sit quietly and barely raise an eyebrow themselves.

WND reports, “The pattern has become obvious in that those on the far left in American politics feel they have a license to lie, almost casually and without conscience, following a model that was introduced by the Soviets in the 1920s, so much so that it has become normative for the Democratic Party and their allies in the media,” Cashill said. “In response, we acquiesce in that our allies on the institutional political right under-cut us when we try to expose the truth by calling us ‘conspiracy theorists.’”

This, Cashill stressed, supported his basic theme for the evening: “How to become a genuine, all-American ‘conspiracy theorist,’ because in the eyes of the mainstream media, if we dare to tell the truth, we are going to be cast as ‘conspiracy theorists’ by the left in the effort to preserve the lie by discrediting us as truth-tellers.”

What does the Lord say to such wickedness?

“16 There are six things that the LORD hates, seven that are an abomination to him:
17 haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil,
19 a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers. ”

Proverbs 6:16-19 (ESV)

In a world filled with so much evil, we must seize the day and realize that when we let our light shine before men, we penetrate the darkness with great veracity. Just because the political class is filled with so much corruption doesn’t mean we should plummet into despair. Simply living the Christian life of integrity day in and day out pierces the wickedness of this world and calls His sheep out of the darkness into His wonderful light.

As we reign with Christ today, we have far more power than we are led to believe or even realize at times, for a single Christian armed with the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ can wield the sword, which is the Word of God, on a daily basis and gain great victory in the heavenly realm, which is where the hardest fought war persists. The Kingdom of God grows day by day as He is filling His ranks with warriors for truth who will dwell with Him into the ages. What a great glory that is and what a great joy it is to be part of such Kingdom building! Amen!

Black Mob Violence: Plight of the Black Family

In an era that was supposed to be ‘post-racial’ with the election of Barack Obama, black mob violence is on the rise.

Commenting on Thomas Sowell’s fear of a race war, Tea Party favorite [Allen] “West asked: ‘Are we on the verge of war?’ He answered, ‘I hope not, but just this past week in Brooklyn a white couple was attacked, dragged from their car and beaten by a black mob.’ West also pointed to the fatal beating of 86-year old World War II veteran Delbert Benton in Spokane, Wash., by two black males last month. Just two days ago in the Boston area, he noted,  a 24-year-old white female teacher was brutally killed by a 14-year-old black male. ‘Earlier this year, in my home state of Georgia, two teenage black males shot a baby in the face, after shooting the mother.’ ”

The mainstream media has shied away from such atrocities, and, when they do engage, the identity of the suspects is often left out so as not to ‘offend’ anyone. The reality of  black mobs does not appear to be going away, and much of it can be traced back to the devastation caused by unBiblical liberal policies that have destroyed the black community. President Johnson’s Great Society and a whole slew of other ‘social justice’ legislation has decimated black families resulting in exponential crime rates.  As the violence has increased,  it has now spilled over into other sectors of society.  Some esteemed black leaders have been raising the red flag for quite a while, but others ignore it or sweep it under the rug.

How then do we respond to this growing crisis as Christians?

The first thing we must acknowledge is that murder is evil, and it must be met with the death penalty.

” ‘And for your lifeblood I will require a reckoning: from every beast I will require it and from man. From his fellow man I will require a reckoning for the life of man.

6 ‘Whoever sheds the blood of man,
by man shall his blood be shed,
for God made man in his own image.’ ”

Genesis 9:5-6 (ESV)

We cannot simply pass over this Biblical mandate to execute murderers. Because we have taken this command so lightly, we have done nothing but encourage such behavior in all sectors of America with black mob murder rates taking the cake.

Secondly, we must fight against socialist policies that encourage government dependency instead of reliance upon the LORD and His benevolence, which is especially fleshed out via the family and the Church. Rulers are called to bow before Him, and we are to take refuge in Him and no other for our daily needs.

10″Now therefore, O kings, be wise;
be warned, O rulers of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord withfear,
andrejoice with trembling.
12 Kiss the Son,
lest he be angry, and you perish in the way,
for his wrath is quickly kindled.
Blessed are all who take refuge in him.”

Psalm 2:10-12 (ESV)

As for the government’s role, it is not designed or called to implement endless programs that destroy families and minimize the Church. On the contrary, it exists to punish the evil doer, the very thing that it is not doing today. I can personally affirm that it is immensely frustrating for those in law enforcement to work hard in catching and building a legitimate case against the wicked just to have them let off the hook with a light sentence.

“1 Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those that exist have been instituted by God. Therefore whoever resists the authorities resists what God has appointed, and those who resist will incur judgment. For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Would you have no fear of the one who is in authority? Then do what is good, and you will receive his approval, forhe is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. Therefore one must be in subjection, not only to avoid God’s wrath but also for the sake of conscience. For because of this you also pay taxes, for the authorities are ministers of God, attending to this very thing. 7 Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed, respect to whom respect is owed, honor to whom honor is owed.”

Romans 13:1-7 (ESV)

Finally, let us stand with those within the black community who condemn this violence and call out those who refuse to deal with the situation. In a time of great need, we must encourage and affirm our black brothers and sisters when they are called any slew of names for attempting to fight this great ungodliness. We cannot back down from this issue because of what is at stake, especially the souls of those who partake in this evil, many of whom were born into it. Even so, victim hood is certainly not an excuse, for all are conceived in iniquity. Rather, we must confront these would be criminals before they plunge into the depths of this sinful abyss and call them to repentance. From beginning to end, the gospel is the only solution to this problem.

“6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die— but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God. 10 For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, now that we are reconciled, shall we be saved by his life. 11 More than that, we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.”

Romans 5:6-11 (ESV)

Reproduction and Homeschool: God’s Long-term Condemnation of the Sodomite Agenda

The Supreme Court recently set the wind in the sails of Sodomites, so they will surely test the states that have passed laws defining marriage as between one man and one woman. This will only heighten the controversy and a liberal Supreme Court is likely to continue to erode whatever Biblical values we have left off of the face of America. Yea…but there is always the Hand of Providence that keeps the high ground.

As much as those who despise the Bible and want to to see its presence in society destroyed, they cannot flee from the reality of its worldview. How so? In this particular case, the sodomite worldview has always and will forever self-destruct. They cannot biological reproduce, and their sin results in terrible disease, infection, and host of other maladies that lead to an early miserable death. They do steal children via adoption, but it is usually only one or two, and those children end up in public school whereby they have few or no children themselves.

On the other hand, the Biblical worldview will always stand its ground and march forward as the Kingdom of God increases day by day. In the midst of all the bad that exists, may we take comfort in that. The reason why is because the Bible commands procreation right out of the gate. “And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” (Genesis 1:28 ESV) The Fall has made all of all life arduous, and childbirth is especially painful (Genesis 3), but God’s grace prevails and children are brought forth by His Divine decree.

Bearing children is a good thing that God has ordained in the context of marriage, and that marriage is defined as between one man and one woman, something that Christ reiterated, “6 But from the beginning of creation, ‘God made them male and female.’ 7 ‘Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, 8 and the two shall become one flesh.’ So they are no longer two but one flesh. 9 What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate.” (Mark 10:6-9). As we follow this Biblical mandate, the human race will not only continue, but it will thrive.

On the contrary, when we oppose God, we set ourselves up for failure and entire civilizations have collapsed and disappeared as a result of rebellion against the Lord God. The most memorable was from direct judgment in the case of Sodom and Gomorrah. “The sun had risen on the earth when Lot came to Zoar. 24 Then the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah sulfur and fire from the Lord out of heaven. 25 And he overthrew those cities, and all the valley, and all the inhabitants of the cities, and what grew on the ground. 26 But Lot’s wife, behind him, looked back, and she became a pillar of salt. 27 And Abraham went early in the morning to the place where he had stood before the Lord. 28 And he looked down toward Sodom and Gomorrah and toward all the land of the valley, and he looked and, behold, the smoke of the land went up like the smoke of a furnace.” (Genesis 19:23-28) Others have received judgment through other means, with most occurring as a result of the inevitable consequence of ungodly living.

The second invaluable answer to the Sodomite agenda is a Deuteronomy 6 Homeschool. ““Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. 5 You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. 6 And these words that I command you today shall be on your heart. 7 You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise. 8 You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. 9 You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.” (Deuteronomy 6:4-9) When a parent sends a child to to the local government temple, 13,000 seat hours will crush the heart and mind of that child because the ungodly of this world will steal that child’s soul and give the parent the shell to take care of at night and on the weekends.  This is the great secret that the world has tried to keep hidden because it is a surefire way to maintain their abominable agenda.

However, the cat is out of the bag because God always preserves a faithful remnant that he bestows great wisdom and insight into, no matter how evil a society becomes. Such is the case with the Homeschool movement among Christians. Those who oppose Christ propagate caricatures just like they always have, but the Lord marches on. What’s even more astonishing is that the faithful have awaken from their slumber, and God is honoring that faithfulness.

Therefore, may you who currently Homeschool, continue to press on and be used of the Lord to raise up a mighty generation ready to oppose the wiles of the world, the flesh, and the Devil. May you who are considering Homeschool or are openly confronted with the reality of what children face in the government indoctrination temples every day take a serious look at Homeschool as the best option in the raising of your children.

Remember, the great risk is not having many children and educating them at home. Rather, willfully refusing to have at least some children and then sending those that you do have to government schools is the greatest risk to the soul of your child that he will ever face. This is a serious matter, so choose wisely.

Abortion & The Senses of a Nation

As the Kermit Gosnell fallout conviction has taken its course, we are reminded of how powerful testimonies, photos, and the like have helped to wake America up on the abortion debate.  Just as the Germans wanted to ignore the Holocaust, so America wants to ignore abortion.  However, when Germans were forced to see what happened in those death camps, they were hit with the reality of what they had condoned: murder. Such has happened here with abortion.

Abortion is murder, and there is no way around it. It is a violent painful death that many tiny babies face everyday, and America saw just how ugly it is with the trial of Kermit Gosnell. The mainstream media covered it very little initially, but, eventually, they had to at least acknowledge it, and some outlets did give it significant prime time coverage.  That caught the attention of many otherwise oblivious and willfully ignorant citizens. It was just too gruesome to ignore.

Terms like ‘snipping’ cemented the ‘house of horrors’ phrase day in and day out, and the testimonies of live babies being executed was heart-wrenching. One could only imagine how many children have been murdered in that clinic alone. The harsh truth is that Kermit Gosnell is the norm and not the exception. That is what has made the case so alarming. People just don’t want to admit that it is this bad, but it is, and his trial forced the citizenry to rethink its position on abortion.

The senses of our nation are heightened to the cruelties of abortion, and, as Christians, we must not let that momentum subside. To do so would be a great dishonor and injustice to the millions of babies murdered since Roe vs. Wade.  Why then should we fight so hard for the unborn?

1. They are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:26-27). God has blessed all of his creation, but man was made in the image of God. That makes him special, something even the angels were not graced with.

2. Each child is carefully knit together by God and ordained of God. There are no accidental children, no matter how ‘unwanted’ they may be. (Psalm 139: 13-16)

3. To murder a child in the act of premeditated abortion is to defy the Living God. In doing so, the blood of the perpetrator is required because the blood of another who is made in the image of God was unjustifiably taken (Genesis 9:6).

These are but a few; I’m sure you can think of many more. Think on this. Psalm 139:13-16

“13 For you formed my inward parts;

you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.

14 I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.

Wonderful are your works;

my soul knows it very well.

15 My frame was not hidden from you,

when I was being made in secret,

intricately woven in the depths of the earth.

16 Your eyes saw my unformed substance;

in your book were written, every one of them,

the days that were formed for me,

when as yet there was none of them.”

May God grant us grace to repent of this great evil that has plagued our land for so many decades.

Nathan The Prophet Meets Barak Obama

The unwillingness of rulers to confess and repent during a scandal is not uncommon because their power, reputation, prestige, and even their wealth may hang in the balance. They become tyrants and use their power to intimidate any whistle-blowers. This is exactly what Barack Obama has done. The question then is, “Will he repent or will he not?  One King did exactly that.

Nathan confronts David

When our beloved King David pursued the wife of another (2 Samuel 11:1-5) and then worked to cover it up (2 Samuel 11:6-27), Nathan the Prophet shrewdly exposed the King for his treachery to His face (Samuel 12:1-12). David was exposed, but He did the unthinkable. He repented (2 Samuel 12:13-14), and the Lord spared His life. However, there are always consequences for sin, so the child died as a result of David’s sin (2 Samuel 11:14-23), and numerous other consequences would arise as well (2 Samuel 12:10-12).

Nevertheless, two things were at work here: the willingness of Nathan to fear God and confront the King and the fear of God in David to repent when he was laid bare. This is an incredible case study of Biblical discipline, repentance, and restoration of fellowship with the Lord. Not only did Kind David repent, but he wrote our beloved Psalm 51 which was David’s cry of repentance to the Lord for all the world to hear, something a pagan king would not dare to do.

We now face a situation in our country where the President has found himself neck deep in deception, cover-up, and lies. He has been exposed again and again with each passing scandal, yet he refuses to confess his sin and repent of his treachery. There is much at stake obviously, for, if he confesses, then he will be shown to be the liar that he is. If he doesn’t, then he will have to keep lying and continue to use the media to bully his way through his many cover-ups.

How then should we react as Christians?

As hard as it is to pray for such impenitent leaders, we are commanded to do so (2 Timothy  2:1-4). The heart of God is greater than our lust for vengeance, and vengeance is the Lord’s (Romans 12:14-21). We must never forget that. Let us pray that our President repents of his sin, and may He face the consequences of his actions as a repentant man instead of one condemned before the Almighty.

May our prayer before the Lord be for the salvation of Barack Obama and those of his staff. May we not be filled with bitter hatred, for we were just as dead in our trespasses in sin (Ephesians 2:1). He must surely be held accountable, for God is not mocked, but we are commanded to love our neighbor and our enemies (Luke 6:35). That is not easy, but with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26).
